About the SWO Section:

This is a unique section which has been formed with the sole intention to act as an interface between the university and the students. The section administers and makes decisions concerning student welfare, taking up issues reported by the students and resolves them by bringing it to the notice of the higher authorities of the institute.

Activities conducted during the Academic Year 2014-15:
  • Formation of Student Council:
    The student council of BVCOEW was formed on 19th  August’2015. This event was witnessed by the committee of following members: the college Principal, the Heads of all departments, Librarian, Student Welfare Officer and the college NSS Coordinator. This committee along with the students from all departments has elected Ms. Shashanki Singh from TE Electronics and Telecommunication as a General Secretary.
  • Mass Singing of National Anthem:
    Mass singing of National Anthem at 11.00am on 23rd August 2016. Around100 staff members and 200 students participated in this event.
  • Four days workshop on Yoga and Meditation:
    Four days workshop on Yoga and Meditation was conducted on 30 th August 2016 to 2 nd September 2016. by Dr. Amol Patil (Yoga-Acharya) in presence of all faculty members and College Principal Dr. H.V.Vankudre . The workshop included the basic concepts of healthy life and innovative mind. He motivated everyone to move towards healthy lifecycle, he introduced various pranayams i.e suryanamskar any many more. Even he enlightened everyone with different yoga tips.
  • Engineers day Celebration:
    Engineers day was celebrated on 15 th September 2016 ,with Dr.Tansen Chaudhari, COO, Fluid Controls Pvt Ltd., Pune, in presence of all faculty members and College Principal Dr. H.V.Vankudre . He motivated everyone to move towards technical knowledge usage for society. The programme ends with Engineers pledge.
  • Karamaveer Bhayurao Patil Earn And Learn Scheme 2016-17 :
    The scheme was introduced in order to help students to earn while learning new and exciting works. This boosted the knowledge level of students in various areas.

Anti-Ragging Committee:
Ragging, use of drugs, drug trafficking and eve teasing, which are criminal offences, are strictly forbidden in the University and persons found indulging in such activities will be subjected to strict disciplinary and other action in keeping with the law of the land. Indulging in any criminal activity within or outside the University and any physical violence against fellow students and fellow residents will not be tolerated and will attract stern disciplinary action including rustication. A Committee has been constituted with Students’ Welfare, Chief Warden, representative from Women Studies Centre, Women faculty members, Women students, Students’ Union and Teachers’ Association as members. Every Student admitted to the institution has the liberty to contact to the officials in case of any grievances.

The Department of Information Technology organised a seminar on “Cloud Computing: From Security, Privacy to Forensics Challenges” by Dr. Arati M Dixit, Chairperson of ACM-W India, on 1st September, 2017. The seminar was organised under the Student Chapter of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The speaker discussed about the challenges in the security, privacy and forensics of Cloud Computing. She also provided brief information on benefits of having ACM student chapter.

The Department of Information Technology, College of Engineering for Women, Pune, organized a seminar on “Usability Design and Entrepreneur Skills” by Mr. Shashi Sudhanshu, CEO, Talkd. Inc., Pune, on 23rd August 2017. The seminar was organized under the Student Chapter of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The speaker presented an overview of Usability Design and the skills required to become an entrepreneur.

The Department of Information Technology, organized seminar on "Evolution of Internet: Past, Present, and Future" by Dr. R. Venkateswaran, Senior Vice President, IoT Solutions, Persistent Systems Limited, Pune on 4th July, 2017 under Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Student Chapter. The speaker presented an overview of computer networking and the three generations of Internet.
