Principal's Message
Welcome to Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering for Women, Pune
Bharati Vidyapeeth, our parent organization, was founded by Hon’ble Dr. Patangrao Ji Kadam Saheb with the visionary motto “Social Transformation through Dynamic Education.” Inspired by this philosophy and recognizing the pivotal role of women in nation building, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering for Women, Pune was established with the vision of “Women Empowerment through Technical Education.” The institute is committed to nurturing technically competent, ethically strong, and socially responsible women engineers.
The institute offers undergraduate programs in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ENTC), and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML). To promote advanced learning and research, postgraduate programs are offered in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Engineering, and the ENTC Department is a recognized Ph.D. Research Centre, contributing significantly to research and innovation. The institute is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), ensuring academic rigor and adherence to university norms.
Students admitted to the college represent diverse socio-economic and educational backgrounds. The institute addresses their varied needs through structured academic delivery, mentoring, and skill enhancement initiatives. A well-planned academic calendar, outcome-based education, continuous assessment, and systematic monitoring ensure effective curriculum implementation. The consistent performance of students in university examinations, internships, industry collaborations, and placements reflects the robustness of academic and training processes.
The institute is supported by a team of highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated faculty members who foster a learner-centric and inclusive teaching–learning environment. State-of-the-art infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories provide students with hands-on learning experiences and exposure to contemporary technologies.
Research, innovation, and entrepreneurship are promoted through the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), encouraging student participation in hackathons, innovation challenges, start-up initiatives, project competitions, and interdisciplinary problem-solving activities. Students actively engage in technical and non-technical events, professional society activities, and NSS extension programs, supporting holistic development and social responsibility.
The institute also has a vibrant Student Association, along with department-level student clubs and professional society chapters, which enhance technical competence, leadership qualities, creativity, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Student creativity, communication, and technical writing skills are nurtured through the college magazine “Oyster”, which is conceptualized and published by students and has consistently won prizes at the University level. Additionally, department-level e-newsletters regularly showcase academic activities, student achievements, research contributions, industry interactions, and co-curricular initiatives.
The institute is NAAC accredited with ‘A’ Grade (Second Cycle) and is currently undergoing the NBA accreditation process. The safety, security, and well-being of girl students are accorded the highest priority through a safe campus environment, effective monitoring, and comprehensive student support systems.
With the collective efforts of dedicated faculty and enthusiastic students, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering for Women continues to progress toward academic excellence and remains steadfast in its vision of women empowerment through technical education. The institute’s academic ecosystem is further strengthened through collaborations with leading technology platforms such as AWS and Oracle APEX, partnerships with international universities, and sustained industry collaborations, enhancing experiential learning, global exposure, and industry readiness.
